The Kano State Commissioner for Environment and Climate Change, Dr. Dahir Muhammad Hashim, has officially commissioned the Lungu Kal-Kal Project at Layin Dan’isa, Yakasai Quarters, in Kano Municipal Local Government Area.
The commissioning marks a key milestone in the State Government’s urban renewal agenda, designed to upgrade infrastructure, improve environmental management, and enhance the living conditions of residents.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Dahir Muhammad Hashim described the Lungu Kal-Kal Project as a crucial step toward transforming Kano’s urban landscape. He noted that the initiative will improve drainage systems, reduce flooding, and boost the overall quality of life for residents of Yakasai Quarters and surrounding areas.
The Commissioner commended community members for their patience and cooperation throughout the project’s execution, assuring them of the government’s unwavering commitment to improving public infrastructure and the environment.
“The Lungu Kal-Kal project is a testament to our administration’s dedication to urban renewal and sustainable development,” he stated.
