The Kano State Government has expressed strong disappointment and concern over the blockage of the venue for the National Tijjaniyya Maulud by security agencies.

The event, scheduled to take place on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Kofar Mata Stadium, has been disrupted despite no reported security threats in the state.
Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, Honorable Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, addressed a press conference to condemn the actions of the security agencies.

He emphasized that the Kano State Government has not issued any complaints regarding insecurity and finds the presence of security operatives at the venue unwarranted and unacceptable.
“The National Tijjaniyya Maulud is a peaceful and significant religious event that has been held for 39 years without incident,” said Commissioner Waiya.

“We urge the Federal Government to immediately withdraw its security agencies from the venue and allow the event to proceed without hindrance.”
The Commissioner assured that the event will proceed as planned, citing the organization’s legitimate registration and recognition.

He also urged the guests and participants to remain peaceful and law-abiding.
The Kano State Government has reiterated its commitment to religious freedom and peaceful assembly, emphasizing that the state will not accept intimidation or undue interference in its internal affairs.
