The Kano State Government KNSG has announced plans to invite the management of tricycle operators in the state for a discussion on their members’ consistent defaulting of monthly environmental sanitation laws.
State Commissioner for Environment and Climate Change, Alhaji Nasiru Sule Garo, made this known during a press briefing after the Saturday environmental sanitation exercise in Kano.
Garo expressed dissatisfaction with the tricycle riders’ disregard for the Monthly Environmental Sanitation Act of 2022, stressing the need for compliance.
He commended Kano residents for adhering to the stay-at-home order during the exercise and encouraged the public to utilize the period for clearing their homes and drainages.
In a related development, a mobile court attached to the Central Sanitation Committee arrested 62 defaulters and fined them a total of N171,800.
