Kogi Central Journalists’ Guild, an umbrella body of Kogi Central journalists in the Diaspora on Sunday called for equal representation in Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s media team.
A statement signed by the Guild President, Muhammad Tijani Abdulsalam, and the Secretary, Ozumi Abdul, on Sunday shortly after its emergency meeting decried the total exclusion of its members from the recent appointments by Kogi state governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.
The statement noted that “It’s however surprising that an ethnic group that boasts of season Journalists and Public Relations Gurus were ignored into the appointments of Ododo media team.
The Guild, however admonished the governor to build his Crisis Management Team on a tripod of Kogi Agenda, as the present composition has marginalized the Central Senatorial District Professionals in Reputation management.
The Guild in the statement picked hole on the decision to recycle aides of the immediate past government that fed glutonously, but failed to contribute meaningfully to Image management.
The Kogi Journalists, however commended the governor for promoting Kogi Agenda over its recent appointment of Special Advisers (SAs), and Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) .
The body expressed confidence that the inclusive list of recent appointments would guarantee sense of belonging among Kogi state critical stakeholders.
The Guild further stressed that proactive steps like this would no doubt knit interests groups under a confluence agenda.
