The Federal Ministry of Education has formalized a strategic partnership with the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) to enhance technical and vocational education in Nigeria.

The agreement, signed at the Ministry’s headquarters in Abuja, aims to boost technical capacity and foster long-term educational collaboration between Nigeria and China.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Education, Dr. Nasir Sani Gwarzo, emphasized the partnership’s potential to improve technical education and practical skill development in Nigeria.

“This partnership will enhance our ability to teach lean and implement technical knowledge effectively

From my observation in China, I believe today’s agreement is just the beginning of a long term collaboration ” Dr. Gwarzo stated.

He further noted that while the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is not legally binding, it provides a flexible framework for future expansion, quality improvement, and the inclusion of additional stakeholders.

CCECC’s Director, John Zhao, reaffirmed the corporation’s commitment to supporting Nigeria’s education sector, emphasizing that this partnership aligns with the Nigerian government’s prioritization of education.

“This is just the beginning. There’s much more to accomplish We are committed much more to accomplish , after the MoU is signed. We are committed to bringing expertise, technology and equipment to help and advance technical education in Nigeria” Zhao remarked’

Federal Government Rolls Out TVET Program to Equip Nigerians

The partnership is expected to facilitate knowledge transfer, improve vocational training, and equip institutions with modern resources.
