The Nigeria Police Force has reaffirmed its commitment to tackling kidnapping and other crimes nationwide.

In recent operations, police operatives successfully rescued hostages and neutralized kidnappers in Benue and Nasarawa States, while also intercepting a suspect with arms and ammunition in Bayelsa State.

According to a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the police operatives demonstrated exceptional skill and coordination in the operations.

On December 31, 2024, police operatives in Benue State rescued a kidnapped victim, Tor Gajir, in Kwande LGA, neutralizing three kidnappers in the process.

Two AK-47 rifles, six loaded magazines, and live ammunition were recovered during the operation.

In a similar operation in Nasarawa State on December 28, 2024, police operatives rescued two hostages after discovering an abandoned vehicle along Keffi-Kaduna Highway. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing kidnappers.

Furthermore, on January 7, 2025, police operatives in Bayelsa State intercepted a suspect, Usman Mohammed, en route to Rivers State.

A thorough search of the vehicle uncovered one AK-47 rifle, one Type 09 AR, magazines, and 120 rounds of ammunition.

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, commended the operatives for their bravery and dedication to duty.
