The Bank of Industry (BOI) has announced a strategic partnership with the Centre for Dryland Agriculture (CDA) to bolster agricultural innovation and capacity building in the region.

This collaboration will focus on providing access to finance, operationalizing the CDA’s Regional Agri-business Innovation Hub (RAIHub), and facilitating knowledge transfer to empower farmers and entrepreneurs.

During a visit to the CDA on January 14, 2025, Alhaji Aminu Y. Yusuf, Managing Director of BOI’s Kano Area Office, expressed strong enthusiasm for the partnership.

Impressed by the CDA’s state-of-the-art facilities, including the Training and Research Farm, multi-purpose laboratory, and the RAIHub, Yusuf affirmed the bank’s commitment to providing financial and technical assistance.

“The Centre has everything it takes in terms of facilities and manpower, which are of international standard,” Yusuf stated.

He emphasized the BOI’s intention to swiftly formalize the partnership through a memorandum of understanding, outlining areas of collaboration such as capacity building, access to finance, and support for the RAIHub’s development.

Professor Jibrin Mohammed Jibrin, Director of the CDA, warmly welcomed the BOI team and expressed eagerness to collaborate. “We are ready to work with the Bank to achieve mutual benefits,” he remarked.

This partnership signifies a crucial step towards strengthening the agricultural sector in the region.
