The Vice Chancellor of Northwest University Kano, Professor Muktar Atiku Kurawa, has reiterated the institution’s commitment to supporting sports development.
This pledge was made during the recent University Staff Games 2025, which took place at the university premises.
Professor Kurawa, represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration, Professor Abubakar Salisu Garba, emphasized the management’s dedication to providing moral and financial support to the sports directorate.
Northwest University Kano Kicks Off Staff Games 2025
The university aims to excel in state and national competitions, and to achieve this, the management has approved funding for athletes to participate in the upcoming Nigerian University Games Association (NUGA) preliminaries.
The Vice Chancellor congratulated the winners of various events, including football, chess, table tennis, and athletics.
He also urged the losers to redouble their efforts in future championships. Furthermore, he called on the sports directorate to recruit talented players ahead of the upcoming Nigerian Universities Staff Games (NUSSA).
Northwest Inter-Staff Games: Security Directorate Wins Tennis Gold
The university’s Director of Sports, Surajo Ahmad, expressed his gratitude to the management, staff, and students for their cooperation and support.
He pledged that the directorate will continue to promote and develop various sporting events in the university.
The event featured the presentation of medals, certificates, and trophies to deserving players and teams.
