Stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Jigawa State have called on former Governor Sule Lamido to consider joining another political party, citing the deepening internal crisis within the PDP.
The call was contained in a communiqué issued after a meeting held at the PDP state secretariat, signed by the state chairman, Hon. Ali Idris Diginsa, and made available to newsmen.

The stakeholders expressed concern over what they described as the party’s worsening internal conflict and the leadership’s failure to address lingering disputes.
They accused the party of allegedly sidelining the former governor and denying him the opportunity to contest for the position of national chairman “for reasons best known to the leadership.”
“What is happening in the party recently is exposing its weaknesses and shame,” the communiqué stated, referring to the confrontation between Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, at the PDP national secretariat in Abuja, which they described as “shameful and embarrassing.”
According to the forum, the PDP is no longer a formidable national platform due to persistent divisions, distrust and unending rancour among members.

Despite their grievances, the party chairmen reaffirmed their loyalty to Sule Lamido, pledging total support for whatever political decision he may take.
They noted that Dr Sule Lamido remains the only surviving member of the historic G9 and G18 groups who has never abandoned the PDP, even during the height of the Buhari political wave in the North.
“We urge our leader to seek a viable political platform that will enable his followers to pursue the dream of a greater Jigawa and Nigeria,” the communiqué added, expressing confidence in Lamido’s judgment and leadership.
