According to him, media serves as a gateway for creating awareness and shaping public behavior, earning them high esteem and value in society.
In his congratulatory message to the newly elected President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Comrade Alhassan Yahaya, Alhaji Auwal Baba urged journalists to uphold ethical considerations and remain steadfast in their pursuit of truth.
He also commended the Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma, for supporting the Delegates Conference.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Northern Affairs, Hon. Sulaiman Ibrahim Sulaiman, praised journalists for conducting a peaceful election and assured them of the state’s delight in hosting the conference.
This highlights the importance of media in promoting democratic values and societal growth, as they provide a platform for information dissemination, accountability, and public engagement.
