    Tanker Tragedy: Enugu Governor Vows to Prevent Future Accidents

    A devastating fuel tanker accident occurred on the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway, resulting in the loss of 11 lives.

    Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah, promptly visited the scene to assess the situation and offer his condolences to the families of the victims.

    During his visit, Governor Mbah expressed his sadness over the tragic incident and assured the public that the government would take full responsibility for the medical expenses of the injured survivors.

    Preliminary investigations revealed that the accident was caused by a brake failure, which led to the tanker spilling its premium motor spirit and igniting.

    Tragedy Strikes Kano As Unidentified Man Drowns in Well

    The governor has directed the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) and the State Commissioner for Transport to ensure that all tankers conveying inflammable substances in the state are equipped with anti-spill locks to prevent similar accidents in the future.

    Furthermore, Governor Mbah instructed the state government to take immediate action to repair the damaged section of the federal road and deploy traffic rules to prevent future occurrences.

    Tragedy:Fire Kills Couple in Ungogo Local Gov’t Area Kano

    The FRSC Sector Commander for Enugu, Mr. Franklin Agbakoba, briefed the governor on the preliminary investigation, confirming that 11 people lost their lives at the scene, while several injured victims were rushed to the hospital for treatment.

    Governor Mbah commended the emergency responders for their prompt action in responding to the accident and assured the public that his administration would do everything possible to prevent such tragedies from happening again.
