The Governor of Jigawa State, Malam Umar Namadi, has presented a proposed budget of ₦901.841 billion for the 2026 fiscal year, tagged the “Budget of Innovation and Transformation for Greater Jigawa II.
”The budget is designed to drive development and implement key projects across the state.

According to the Governor, the budget allocates ₦693.4 billion (76.9%) to capital expenditure and ₦208.4 billion to recurrent expenditure.
Notably, Education and Health sectors received over ₦310 billion, reflecting the administration’s focus on social services.
Speaking on the presentation, the Speaker of the Jigawa State House of Assembly, Haruna Dangyatim, assured that the Assembly is committed to the swift passage of the appropriation bill to accelerate the state’s development agenda.
“The budget is comprehensive and people-focused. We will scrutinise it thoroughly to ensure its swift passage for Jigawa’s brighter future,” Dangyatim said. He also commended the executive for working closely with the legislature to ensure policies and programs meet the needs of the people.
