The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has filed a suit at the Federal High Court in Abuja, seeking an order compelling the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to reinstate Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo on the list of candidates for the 2027 Kano State governorship election.
The suit follows the omission of Gwarzo’s name from the list of governorship candidates released by INEC, despite the party’s claim that he had fulfilled all the requirements to participate in the election.

The legal action seeks to challenge the candidate’s exclusion from INEC’s list and secure his recognition as the party’s governorship candidate ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The court’s decision is expected to determine the next stage of the NDC’s efforts to have Gwarzo included in the list of candidates for the Kano State governorship election.
