Ibrahim Garba Shuaibu, ANIPR, CLN (Danmalikin Shanono) is a Nigerian journalist, media executive, public relations practitioner, publisher, and development communication specialist from Kano State, Nigeria.
He is widely known for his contributions to journalism, strategic communication, media management, and public affairs.
He is the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer and Editor-in-Chief of Prime Time News, a Kano-based digital newspaper that focuses on governance, development, politics, business, and public affairs.
He also served as the Kano Correspondent of THISDAY Newspaper, with his reports syndicated and referenced by several international media organisations.
In public service, Shuaibu served as the Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor of Kano State, His Excellency Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, following his appointment in 2023.
During his tenure, he oversaw media relations, strategic communication, public affairs, speech writing, and government information management.
He currently serves as the Official Spokesperson to the Governorship Candidate of the National Democratic Coalition (NDC) in Kano State, His Excellency Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, leading media engagement, public relations, campaign communications, and strategic messaging.
Shuaibu is a graduate of Bayero University Kano (BUK), where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science/Political Science.
He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Mass Communication, a Professional Diploma in Mass Communication, and a Master’s degree in Public Relations.
He is currently pursuing a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Mass Communication at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).
A certified public relations practitioner, Shuaibu is an Associate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (ANIPR) and a Certified Librarian of Nigeria (CLN).
Throughout his career, he has remained actively engaged in journalism, media development, public relations, crisis communication, political communication, and digital media innovation.
In recognition of his contributions to journalism, public service, and community development, he was conferred with the traditional title Danmalikin Shanono.
Shuaibu is an advocate of ethical journalism, development communication, and the responsible application of emerging technologies in media practice.
His professional interests include public relations, political communication, artificial intelligence in journalism, media training, digital journalism, and strategic communication.
