In a statement from the State House, President Tinubu expressed his heartfelt condolences to the family of the late leader, especially to his widow, Mrs. Aisha Buhari, with whom he has spoken personally.

As part of the arrangements to honour the former President, President Tinubu has directed Vice President Kashim Shettima to immediately travel to the United Kingdom to accompany the body of the late President Buhari back to Nigeria for burial.
