When someone saves lives and gives others a reason to breathe, gratitude and humility become a duty.

The recent generosity shown by the Executive Governor of Kano State, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, is a testament to leadership rooted in justice, fairness, and inclusiveness.

His commitment to the people regardless of political affiliation is evident in the recent disbursement of more than ₦5 billion aimed at clearing the backlog of gratuities inherited from the previous administration, as well as the payment of outstanding severance packages to former councillors.

These actions speak volumes about his character as a result-oriented leader whose compassion touches all.

Since assuming office, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf has restored sanity, justice, and fairness to governance in Kano State.

Abba Gida Gida has once again shown what leadership should look like, anchored in equity and service.

For those who may not know, the Governor has already paid ₦27 billion out of the ₦48 billion backlog in gratuities and death benefits inherited since 2023.

In addition to the recent of more than ₦5 billion disbursement, he has pledged to clear the remaining balance by 2027, Insha Allah.

In a short span of time, he also gave a matching order for the payment of outstanding severance gratuities and furniture allowances to former councillors, worth another over ₦5 billion.

Remarkably, these beneficiaries served under the APC government, yet he fulfilled the promise without bias. That alone deserves a royal salute.

This singular act is a lesson to those in authority now and in the future.

Abba Gida Gida has given so much to the people of Kano especially in human and capital development. His achievements in social welfare are undeniable, even by his critics.

Those working to tarnish the image of his administration will continue to fail.

They overlook the fact that Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf is already an icon, loyal, committed, and dedicated to the people of Kano State.

The long-suffering pensioners would have remained forgotten if not for his intervention.

His pedigree and unwavering commitment to infrastructure and human development through leadership anchored in love, unity, and generosity have not disappointed the people.

His ability to rise above rhetoric and remain relevant in Kano’s political landscape unsettles the noisemakers who twist every narrative around him.

But to them, let it be known: Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf has a clear testimony from Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. Responding to that truth is not a crime, it’s clarity.

Attempts to sow discord between the Governor and Dr. Kwankwaso, or among top NNPP officials, are baseless and misinformed.

History will judge Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf rightly for his consistent allegiance to Kwankwasiyya ideology and his solidarity with its founder.

As his administration continues to emphasize integrity, transparency, and fidelity in public service, there is no doubt that Kano State is in safe hands.

May Almighty Allah continue to grant him wisdom and strength to meet the aspirations of the people.

He stands tall among governors in the North and across Nigeria, his intellect and commitment to service delivery are unmatched.

This is not the time to bow out. Kano still needs your service, Your Excellency. You remain the people’s Governor and you deserve a royal treatment from the good citizens of Kano State and beyond.
