The team responsible for feeding Nigerian pilgrims in Madina conducted an inspection of all contracted kitchens to ensure they are ready for service.
The team focused on hygiene, food quality, and the overall facilities. Alhaji Abdullahi Kabir, head of the Madina feeding committee, led the inspection of the seven kitchens contracted for this purpose.
Key areas of inspection included the cleanliness of the facilities and equipment, as well as the workforce, all of which are essential for effective service delivery.
During a meeting held prior to the kitchen inspections, the Madina Coordinator, Alhaji Abdulkadir Oloyi, raised concerns regarding food packaging. He pointed out that some caterers were using substandard plastic containers, which is unacceptable.
The meeting resulted in an agreement to establish uniform packaging standards to be used by all caterers.
Abdulkadir also emphasized the importance of adhering to many standards given to them by NAHCON as well as delivering the food to the pilgrims’ accommodation on time. He said there will be consequences on violators.
Meanwhile the committee in charge of accommodation is working tirelessly to ensure that everything is in place before the arrival of the first batch of Nigerian pilgrims into Saudi Arabia.
