The Yandakan Katsina, District Head of Dutsinma, Alhaji Sada Muhammad Sada, emphasized this during a community engagement and sensitization lecture organized by the Gyara Kayanka Youth Development Association in Dutsinma Local Government Area of Katsina State.

Represented by the Village Head of Shema, Alhaji Abubakar Abdulsalam, the District Head stressed that parents bear the primary responsibility for their children’s particularly when they neglect their parental duties.
He highlighted that many instances of juvenile delinquency stem from negligence at home.
Alhaji Abdulsalam expressed concern over the increasing involvement of children in activities that tarnish their reputations and those of their communities, including traffic violations, drug abuse, unlawful businesses, political thuggery, and certain forms of musical entertainment through MP3s.
He urged parents to encourage their children to pursue both Western and Islamic education.

He further noted that many religions offer moral and ethical principles that guide behavior and decision-making, helping individuals to navigate complex ethical issues and align their choices with their values.
The District Head also attributed the recent wave of calamities and social unrest across the state and the nation to a decline in obedience to Almighty Allah and failure to adhere to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
He called for frequent prayers for lasting peace in the country.
Earlier, in his welcome address, the Chairman of the Gyara Kayanka Youth Development Association, Comrade Sulaiman Nagarba, urged the government at all levels to expedite actions that would enforce law and order within communities.
In their separate presentations, Malam Zaharaddin Ahmad Rufai and Malam Aliyu Shafii quoted verses from the Holy Quran and the Hadith of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) to emphasize the roles parents and community leaders must play in instilling moral behavior in children.
They also advised Muslims to seek both Western and Islamic knowledge to become valuable members of their communities and to avoid electing unscrupulous and selfish politicians who might undermine society and democracy.
