The Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, has described the Deputy Senate President, Hon. Barau I. Jibrin, as the most qualified and capable candidate to lead Kano State in the 2027 gubernatorial election.
Speaking during a political gathering held at the Federal Secretariat in Kano Minister Ata addressed senior legislative aides of the Deputy Senate President and reaffirmed Hon. Barau’s unparalleled political competence and commitment to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano.
“Hon. Barau is the best candidate to lead Kano in 2027. His leadership capacity, integrity, and dedication to our party’s progress are unmatched,” said the Minister. “The democratic dividends he has facilitated for Kano are evident and impactful.”
Minister Ata urged APC stakeholders, including former executive members and party elders, to resolve internal disputes and work in unity ahead of the next election cycle. He emphasized that party cohesion is vital for electoral success.
He also applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his strategic support to Kano State, citing key political appointments and developmental projects facilitated under his administration. These include:

The Minister concluded by reaffirming his strong belief that Hon. Barau remains the most credible and prepared candidate to govern Kano in 2027, stressing that the state must consolidate on the gains achieved under the current administration.
