Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has issued a stern warning to all public officials in the state, cautioning them against engaging in matters of public interest without obtaining prior approval from appropriate authorities.
This directive follows the resignation of the Commissioner for Transport, Alhaji Ibrahim Namadi Dala, who stepped down amidst allegations of his involvement in securing the bail of a suspected drug baron.

The Governor’s warning was conveyed in a statement signed by the Director General of Media and Publicity, Alhaji Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
According to the statement,Governor Yusuf emphasized that all public office holders must obtain official clearance before getting involved—either officially or privately—in any issue that touches on public interest.
“A committee set up by the Governor to investigate the allegations against the Commissioner for Transport has concluded its assignment and submitted its report,” the statement revealed.

However, prior to the committee’s findings being made public, the embattled Commissioner resigned his position with immediate effect, bringing the controversy to a close.
Governor Yusuf reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to combating drug abuse and other social vices threatening the peace and development of Kano State.
He assured residents that his government would not condone any form of misconduct or abuse of power by public officials, no matter how highly placed.
