Established 14 years ago with the mission of providing quality technical education to Kebbi citizens and beyond, the institution has, under Governor Idris, expanded into training on cutting-edge technologies.

These include vehicle conversion from petrol to compressed natural gas (CNG) and the establishment of a Skills Development Centre accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) to offer 18 vocational trades.

The trades range from fashion design, plumbing, and livestock farming to welding, electrical installations, and ICT repairs.

Dr. Dalatu further revealed that through a ₦500 million TETFund intervention, the Polytechnic has significantly upgraded its fabrication and workshop facilities, giving students and staff the resources to design, build, and test innovative projects.

In line with Governor Idris’ development agenda, the Polytechnic is set to open Study Centres across Kebbi State to bring education closer to the grassroots.

The Rector encouraged youths, parents, and guardians to seize the opportunities available at the Polytechnic, noting that the student population has already grown from 200 to over 500 within a short period and is projected to exceed 2,000 in the next academic session.

He also commended the Polytechnic’s management team, as well as the Commissioner for Higher Education, Abubakar Isah Tunga, and the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed Birnin Kebbi, for their continuous support in driving the institution’s progress.
