The Kano State Accountability for Education (K-SAFE) has congratulated Kano students for their outstanding performance in the recently released NECO examination results.
According to the NECO Examination Officer’s breakdown, Kano State recorded 68,159 students representing 5.020% of all candidates nationwide who scored five credits and above, including English and Mathematics, placing the state at the top.

K-SAFE attributed this remarkable achievement to the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, who approved the payment of NECO registration fees for public school students.
By removing financial barriers, thousands of students were able to participate in the examination, and the results reflect the success of this strategic intervention.

“This outcome demonstrates how targeted investments in education deliver tangible results,” K-SAFE noted.
“Beyond expanding access, the Governor’s initiative has boosted student morale, renewed confidence in public schools, and reaffirmed the limitless potential of Kano’s young people when given the right opportunities.”
K-SAFE urged all stakeholders parents, teachers, civil society, and community leaders to sustain this momentum by complementing government efforts with continued support for learners.
“Together, we can build on this success to ensure that every child in Kano not only accesses education but excels in it,” the statement concluded.
