A Nigerian renowned businessman and philanthropist, Alhaji Auwalu Abdullahi Rano, has donated 15 hectares of land in Rano town for the construction of the Federal Polytechnic Rano.
This generous donation was made possible after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu approved the establishment of the polytechnic.
Enhancing Federal Polytechnics, Colleges of Education
The member representing Rano Kibiya and Bunkure Ryt, Honourable Kabiru Alhassan Rurum, disclosed during a thank-you visit to the business mogul.
According to him, the donated land is sufficient to build all the structures of the polytechnic.
He highlighted that Alhaji Rano has pledged to build a perimeter wall fencing the proposed site of the polytechnic.
The two terms former speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his approval to build the Federal Polytechnic in Rano out of thousands requests from across the country.

He said the president was happy with the expansive land donated by A A Rano.
“The establishment of the polytechnic is expected to bring significant benefits to Kano citizens and the northern region in general”
“Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and the Minister of State for Education have also pledged their support for the institution”
On his part, the Chairman of Rano, Bunkure, Kibiya Development Association Alhaji Umar Yunusa Danburan and chairman Board of Trustees, Senator UK Umar described the establishment of the Polytechnic and the donation of the land as apt.
The explained that it will go a long way in to the growth and development of the north.
Responding, Alhaji Auwalu Rano thanked Right Honourable Kabiru Alhassan Rurum and tte community leaders of the area for the visit.
Alhaji Rano’s philanthropic efforts are not limited to this donation.
He is also the founder of the A. A. Rano Foundation, which focuses on health, education, youth and women empowerment, and has invested over 500 million Naira in human capital development.
