The Kano State Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has taken disciplinary actions against two court staff, Hudu Idris, a registrar at the Upper Sharia Court, Gwarzo, and Abba Bala Gwarzo, a casual watchman, over alleged fraud.
Following a petition filed by Alhaji Sani Bozo, the duo admitted to receiving bribes amounting to N214,000.
Consequently, Idris has been demoted by one grade level and placed on compulsory retirement with immediate effect, while Gwarzo’s contract appointment has been terminated.

In another development, the JSC lifted the suspension of three officials, Bilya Abdullahi, Auwalu Khalil, and Ismaila Garba, due to insufficient evidence regarding an alleged forgery of a court reversal order.

However, Bilya Abdullahi received a strong warning to desist from illegal actions.
Additionally, the commission approved appointments to key managerial positions, including Chief Magistrate Hajara Garba Ahmad as acting Chief Registrar of the High Court of Justice, and others.
