Bayero University Kano (BUK) is gearing up for its 39th Convocation Ceremony, scheduled to take place from February 12 to 15, 2025.
The event will mark a significant milestone in the academic journey of its students.
According to the Vice Chancellor, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, a total of 8,769 graduands from eleven faculties will receive their degrees, diplomas, and certificates during the ceremony.

The ceremony will be held over three days, with the first day seeing 4,402 graduands from eleven faculties receive their degrees.
The second day will feature another 4,367 graduands from seven faculties, with 176 First Class degrees, 275 PhDs, 2,590 Masters Degrees, and 535 Postgraduate Diplomas being awarded.

The Convocation Lecture will be delivered by Khalil Sulaiman Halilu, Executive Vice Chairman/CEO of NACENI, on the topic “Innovation and Entrepreneurship: A Pathway to National Development.” The Chairman of the Convocation Lecture is the Hon. Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, Chief Uche Jeofrey Nnaji.
The university will also confer Honorary Degrees on two distinguished Nigerians: Col. Sani Bello (Rtd) and Alhaji Auwalu Abdullahi Rano. Additionally, Emeritus Professor titles will be awarded to three distinguished retired Professors: Professor Garba Dahuwa Azare, Professor Julius Afolabi Falola, and Professor Musa Mohammed Borodo.
