Kano, Nigeria – The Kano State Commissioner of Education, Dr. Ali Haruna Makoda, has praised the Director of the Kano Educational Resource Department (KERD), Hajiya Rabi Inuwa Hussain, for her exceptional performance within her first year in office.

Speaking at a ceremony to mark KERD’s one-year achievements, Dr. Makoda highlighted the significant progress made by the department, demonstrating the current administration’s commitment to prioritizing education.

Education Key to Unlocking Nigeria’s Potential – Minister

The Commissioner noted that Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has proposed allocating 31% of the 2025 budget to the education sector, showcasing his dedication to the sector.

This move, Dr. Makoda emphasized, underscores the government’s resolve to revitalize the education sector.

Dr. Makoda also commended the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly and the Members of the House Committee on Education for their tireless support of the new government policies on education.

In her remarks, Hajiya Rabi Inuwa Hussain attributed KERD’s success to the collective efforts of her staff, who have worked tirelessly to transform the education sector.

The department has achieved 39 notable milestones in just one year, paving the way for new projects and initiatives.
