The federal government approved a sum of one billion (N1Bn) for the commencement of the construction of the police training institute at Kafin Hausa local government in Jigawa State.
The chairman of the Senate Committee on Police Affairs, Senator Abdulhamid Ahmed Malam Madori, confirmed the approval while speaking at the Jigawa State Government Citizen Engagement Programme (JSGCEP) held at Kafin-Hausa on Sunday.
He said the Senate has already passed the law for establishing the institute in Kafin Hausa, which was approved in the 2025 budget.

According to him, “the construction of a police training institute in Kafin Hausa has undergone all processes and has been passed into law by the senate and is waiting for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s assent for immediate commencement of the project”.
He said the aim is to enhance police responsibility for better and up-to-date policing in the country.

“Also, as part of our commitment to enhance security, we also donated a brand new Toyota Hilux to the Kafin Hausa local government divisional headquarters and renovated the police barracks to motivate security operatives in the area”, Sen. Malam Madori said.
The senator expressed his gratitude and happiness to the people of Kafin Hausa for the warm reception during the visit and engagement forum.
