The Bayero University, Kano (BUK) community is celebrating the appointment of Haruna Aliyu as the 7th substantive Registrar of the University.
Aliyu’s appointment was made by the 15th Governing Council on August 22, 2024, and was commemorated during the 59th Congregation meeting on December 14, 2024, which marked his first attendance as Registrar.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, praised Aliyu’s capabilities, saying, “If Haruna succeeds, it’s the University that succeeds.”
He urged the university community to support Aliyu in his new role to enhance the institution’s administrative framework .
Aliyu brings a wealth of experience to the position, having previously served as Registrar at Skyline University, Kano, from April 2021 to May 2023.

During his tenure, he led the university to achieve several milestones, including the accreditation of 11 programs and a notable ranking in the 2021 Nigerian Universities Ranking .
The BUK community has expressed their best wishes for Aliyu’s tenure and committed to collaborating with him to advance the university.
