Jigawa State has expressed its readiness to strengthen its collaboration with the African Development Bank (AfDB) in key agricultural sectors.

Technical advisor to the JIgawa state Governor on Agriculture, Dr Saifullahi Umar, disclosed this in a statement issued to newsmen.

He explained that this follows a high-level engagement between Governor Umar Namadi, FCA, and AfDB President, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, in Abidjan.

Governor Namadi, who attended Dr. Adesina’s 65th birthday celebration, took the opportunity to engage in discussions aimed at advancing Jigawa State’s agricultural agenda.

The discussions focused on critical areas such as Agricultural Transformation, Special Agro-Processing Zones, and Livestock Development.

Dr. Saifullahi Umar said, the collaboration seeks to harness the expertise and financial resources of the AfDB to boost Jigawa’s agricultural sector, create jobs, and enhance food security.

He said, Jigawa State under the leadership of Governor Umar Namadi has prioritized agriculture as a key driver of economic development, aligning with AfDB’s vision of transforming Africa’s food systems.
