Kabiru Haruna
The former Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Kabiru Alhassan Rurum (Turakin Rano), has extended his heartfelt Ramadan Mubarak wishes to the Muslim Ummah, particularly his constituents in Rano, Kibiya, and Bunkure, as well as the people of Kano State and Nigeria at large.
In his Ramadan message, Rt. Hon. Rurum emphasized that the holy month is a period of spiritual reflection, self-discipline, and increased devotion to Almighty Allah.
He encouraged Muslims to use the opportunity to strengthen their faith, seek forgiveness, and engage in acts of kindness and generosity.
He reminded the faithful that fasting instills patience, self-restraint, and empathy for the less privileged, urging them to extend a helping hand to those in need.
He called on communities to embrace the spirit of love, charity, and compassion throughout the month and beyond.
“As we recite the Holy Qur’an and observe Taraweeh prayers, may we find enlightenment and a renewed commitment to righteous living,” he stated.
He further urged Muslims to increase their supplications, seek sincere repentance, and pray for peace, stability, and prosperity in Nigeria.
Acknowledging the economic hardships many face, Rt. Hon. Rurum encouraged sharing and solidarity, stressing that even small acts of kindness can bring relief to those struggling.
He also advised the youth to use Ramadan for self-improvement, positive engagement, and knowledge-seeking, which would contribute to personal and societal growth.
The former Speaker also appreciated the sacrifices of mothers, sisters, and wives who ensure families have nourishing meals for Suhoor and Iftar, praying for Allah’s blessings upon them.
He further called for peace and harmony in communities, urging people to forgive past grievances and embrace unity.
On leadership, he appealed to political leaders and those in authority to uphold justice and fairness, reminding them that leadership is a trust that must be exercised with sincerity and the fear of Allah.
He concluded by extending prayers for those facing hardship globally, asking Allah to grant them relief and better days ahead.
Rt. Hon. Rurum wished all Muslims a peaceful, fulfilling, and spiritually uplifting Ramadan, praying for Allah’s mercy, strength, and good health to complete the fast successfully and celebrate Eid in happiness.
