The Chairman of Dala Local Government, Alhaji Surajo Ibrahim Imam, has called on philanthropists and companies to support the government’s efforts in improving education and healthcare.
He made this appeal during the commissioning of new science laboratories at Government Girls College (GGC) Dala, which was officially opened by His Highness, the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Sanusi Lamido Sanusi II.

The laboratories inaugurated include:
Chemistry Laboratory named Governor Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf,
Physics Laboratory named His Highness, Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi,
Biology Laboratory named A.B. Mahmud SAN,
Agricultural Laboratory named Alhaji Umar Haruna Doguwa.
These laboratories were funded by a prominent telecommunications company as part of its corporate social responsibility to enhance education in Dala.

Alhaji Surajo Imam commended the company’s efforts and acknowledged the significant financial contributions of philanthropist Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, which were used to procure medical equipment for hospitals in the area to improve healthcare services.
In his remarks, His Highness, the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Sanusi Lamido Sanusi II, expressed his satisfaction with the progress and described GGC Dala as a historic institution established 64 years ago.

He praised the students for their excellent recitation of the Qur’an and called on other companies to support science education across the country.
The representative of the Kano State Commissioner of Education, Dr. Ali Haruna Makoda, through the ministry’s secretary, Alhaji Shehu Na Abba, applauded the efforts of the telecommunications company and thanked the Emir for his presence and support in commissioning the laboratories.

The Principal of GGC Dala, Hajiya Ramatu Muktar Tofa, highlighted the contributions of notable supporters of the school, including Alhaji Aminu Dantata, the Old Students Association led by Hajiya Saudatu Sani, and the Parent-Teacher Association led by Alhaji Ado Muktar Adnan.
She also commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his commitment to revitalizing education in Kano State.
The ceremony was attended by dignitaries, including district heads, community leaders, the NNPP chairman of Dala, councilors, and advisors to the local government chairman.
