In a bid to strengthen partnerships with key stakeholders in the fight against poverty, the Kano State Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Alhaji Adamu Aliyu Kibiya, has commenced courtesy visits to prominent business philanthropists across the state.
During a recent visit to Alhaji Sadiq Dan Gaske, a notable business mogul in Dawanau Market, the Commissioner emphasized the importance of collaboration between the Ministry and the private sector in supporting the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
According to a statement by the Director of Public Enlightenment, Halima Sani Gadanya, the visit aims to build strategic alliances to enhance humanitarian interventions targeting vulnerable populations in Kano.
Honourable Kibiya stated that the Ministry was established to coordinate and amplify the government’s humanitarian response, but acknowledged that lasting impact requires collective effort.
“No government can achieve meaningful results in isolation. We need the active involvement of business leaders and philanthropists to complement our efforts in uplifting the less privileged,” he said.
In his response, Alhaji Sadiq Dan Gaske expressed gratitude for the visit and pledged his full support to the Ministry’s humanitarian agenda. He described Kano as a shared responsibility for all its indigenes and called on other philanthropists to intensify their contributions.
“We have no State better than Kano. This Ministry deserves support from all angles, and I am ready to provide 100% backing for its initiatives,” Dan Gaske affirmed.
He commended the Ministry’s proactive approach and urged other business leaders to join hands with the government to tackle poverty and promote social welfare.
He concluded with prayers for continued peace and unity in the State.
