Kano State has in abundance, reserved Solid Mineral Resources across its Forty Four Local Government Areas.

These Solid Minerals that the world market needed include among others, Uranium, Gold, Tin, Kaolin, Lead- Zinc, Columbine, Tantalite, Glass sand, Bauxite and Lithium.

The Commissioner Ministry for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources Alhaji Safiyanu Hamza disclosed this, at a round table discussion with Sheikh Mu’allim Nuh Bin Idriss Falata from Kingdom of Saudi Arabia who doubles as the Chairman/CEO of Da’am Al-Mawasem Catering Company based in Mecca.

According to him, considering the religious tolerance of Kano and its long standing history of being an Arabian Sub- Saharan Trade Center, all potential investors in the mining sector will have a comfortable and morally safe place to invest.

Alhaji Safiyanu Hamza on behalf of the Executive Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf also expressed utmost delight to the Saudi born Investor Sheikh Mu’allim Nuh Bin Idris Falata and his entourage for the visit and showing interest to collaborate with the ministry in harnessing the sector for the economic growth of both sides.

Sheikh Mu’allim Nuh Bin Idris Falata who is ancestrally from Jigawa express appreciation to the commissioner for the warm reception pointing out that the State Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf had made a good foresight by establishing the ministry to look after the mining sector thereby diversifying to other sources of revenue generation.

Sheikh Falata assured the Commissioner that, his team will study the available endowed Solid Minerals and Natural Resources of the state with a view to leveraging on them for the overall ecoNomic prosperity of his business and the State at large.

Entourage members of the Sheikh Falata during the round table discussion include Sheikh Ahmad Sheriff, Sheikh Aliyu Muhammad and a veteran Journalist Ambassador Aliyu Lawal Saulawa.

However, the ministry of solid minerals, with the Commissioner are the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Engineer Mansir Yakubu FNSE, Director Environmental Safety, Protection & Control Alh.
