The Kano State Auditor General for Local Government has organized a two-day sensitization workshop in Kaduna State, focusing on “Future Trends and Transformation in Auditing Practice.”
The workshop aims to enhance the quality of audits and promote excellence, probity, accountability, and good governance among its staff.

According to Mohammed Isma’il Ishaq, who announced on behalf of the Auditor General for Local Government, Kano State, the workshop is designed to equip auditors with the necessary knowledge and skills to accurately identify and assess risks, gather evidence, make sound judgments, and effectively conduct audits.
He emphasized that well-trained auditors are essential in proactively detecting potential issues such as fraud and non-compliance before they escalate into significant problems.
The Auditor General expressed gratitude to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for approving the funds to conduct the workshop, despite the state’s financial constraints.
He also acknowledged the support of the Kano State House of Assembly, under the leadership of Speaker Hon. Jibril Isma’ila Falgore, for their participation in the workshop.

In his remarks, Speaker Jibril Isma’ila Falgore, represented by Hon. Alhaji Salisu Muhammad, commended the auditors’ efforts in combating corruption and financial crimes.
He urged participants to leverage the workshop to familiarize themselves with modern auditing trends and techniques.
The Speaker also assured the local government audit department of the State House of Assembly’s continued support and encouragement in fulfilling their duties.
