The Kano State Police Command has arrested two individuals for allegedly attacking a lecturer at the State Polytechnic.

Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, identified the suspects as Khalid Hussain, 20, also known as Baffa, of Dorayi Quarters, and Khadija Hassan, 18, of Charanchi Quarters.
The suspects are currently being held at the Anti-Daba (Anti-Thuggery) department of the command.

The lecturer, Aliyu Hamza Abdullahi, filed a complaint with the police following the incident. According to the report, Khadija allegedly orchestrated the attack, claiming the lecturer had hindered her transfer to her desired department due to insufficient grades.

In a fit of anger, Khadija reportedly contacted her fiancé, Khalid, who then stormed the lecturer’s office with a cutlass and struck him on the head.
The institution’s Public Relations Officer, Auwal Isma’ila Bagwai, confirmed the incident, praising the swift response of students and staff that prevented the situation from worsening.

SP Kiyawa assured that the suspects would be prosecuted, emphasizing the importance of maintaining order and safety within academic institutions.
Meanwhile, the lecturer is said to be recovering from his injuries, and investigations are ongoing.
