The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has made a significant breakthrough in combating motorcycle theft in Kano State.

Six suspects, identified as Najib Lawal, Bashir Bello Idris, Lawan Yakubu, Kabiru Garba, Hussain Hassan, and Mubarak Basiru, have been arrested for violently attacking and snatching motorcycles from unsuspecting members of the public around Gurin Gawa and Bechi areas of Kumbotso local government .

The suspects were caught after two of them, Mubarak Basiru and Hussain Hassan, broke into a house in Gurin Gawa and stole a motorcycle.
With the help of vigilante members and NSCDC operatives, the two attackers were apprehended, leading to the arrest of four additional suspects.

The NSCDC has also recovered two stolen motorcycles and is working to recover more. Commandant Mohammed Lawal Falala has directed the Armed squad unit to increase patrols around Eastern bypass to prevent further criminal activities.

This arrest is part of the NSCDC’s efforts to tackle vandalism and theft in Kano State.
