The Kano state commissioner of Police Muhammad Husaini Gumel, has commended Aminu Magashi Garba Foundation AMG Foundation and Youth Society for the Prevention of Infectious Disease and Social Vices YOSPIS for supporting his administration in tackling insecurity in the state.
CP Gumel made the commendation during an interactive session with the media to commemorate one year in office as the Kano state Commissioner of Police.
According to him AMG Foundation and YOSPIS remain key partners of the the Kano Police Command, through ensuring peace and safety of lives and properties by supporting community policing interventions such as organizing friendly football matches between repentant thugs, NUJ ,kannywood, tictokers and the police in order to strengthen the relationship between the police and the community.
“This approach under my administration has bridge the gap between police and the community leading to better information sharing and cooperation in fighting crime”.
However, AMG Foundation and YOSPIS in collaboration with the Kano Police Command organized a hangout with 623 Kano repentant thugs, Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf with the Emir of Kano Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero in attendance.
The aim of the hangout is to bring the repentant thugs closer to the community and to support them to become self reliant.
Series of discussions and engagements between YOSPIS AMG Foundation and the Kano Police Command are ongoing for sustainable peace in Kano State.
