The Kano State Government KNSG has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to prioritizing the growth and advancement of education at all levels, as part of its long-term vision to raise learning standards and empower the younger generation for a brighter future.
This was stated by the ES Kano State Private and Voluntary Schools Management Board KSPVIB, Comrade Baba Umar Abubakar, during the official opening ceremony of the Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf Football Competition Cup.

The event featured football matches between teams from the Kano Educational Research and Development and the Private and Voluntary Schools Management Board versus the Association of Proprietors of Private Schools.
Comrade Baba Umar noted that the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf places education at the core of its development agenda, recognizing it as a key driver of social transformation, economic growth, and sustainable peace in society.
He emphasized that the State Government, under the Governor’s visionary leadership, is taking bold steps to strengthen both public and private educational institutions through innovative policies, infrastructural improvements, and youth-oriented programs aimed at enhancing learning outcomes and overall school quality.

Comrade Baba Umar explained that the football competition is part of the government’s broader strategy to integrate academic excellence with physical and moral development, providing students with opportunities to express their talents beyond the classroom.
He also commended school proprietors, teachers, and students across the state for their dedication, resilience, and continuous partnership with the government in fostering a vibrant and inclusive education system.
The Executive Secretary called on parents, community leaders, and private investors to continue supporting the government’s initiatives in the education sector, stressing that collective participation is vital to achieving lasting progress.
