The Kano State Police Command is taking proactive measures to ensure residents’ and visitors’ safety and security during the ember months, characterized by increased human and vehicular movements, improved business activities, and festive celebrations.

According to SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, ANIPR, MNISMA, Police Public Relations Officer, for: Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, “the Command is committed to protecting lives and properties, providing a conducive atmosphere for all activities.”

This reassurance comes as the Command implements strategic security measures to address the unique challenges posed by the ember months.

Commissioner of Police, CP Salman Dogo Garba, has ordered a strategic security architecture overhaul, including intensified security operations, effective traffic control measures, and robust intelligence gathering efforts.

These measures aim to maintain law and order, prevent criminal activities, and ensure public well-being during and after the ember months.

The Intensified security operations will involve enhanced patrols and surveillance to prevent criminal activities. Effective traffic control measures will improve traffic management, reducing congestion and accidents.

Robust intelligence gathering efforts will increase information collection to identify potential security threats.

Residents and visitors are urged to cooperate with the Police and other security agencies, reporting any suspicious movements or items to the nearest Police Station or through the Kano State Police Command Emergency Numbers: 08032419754, 08123821575, or 09029292926.

The Kano State Police Command’s proactive approach is in line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, on ensuring effective crime prevention, management, and control.
