The Kano State government KNSG has strongly condemned the brutal killings of at least 16 individuals in Uromi, Edo State.
The victims, predominantly hunters from Rivers State, were ambushed and killed by a vigilante group and armed youths.

In a statement signed by the Kano state Commissioner of Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya .
The statement expressed deepest sympathy for the families and friends of the victims.
The commissioner pointed out that, the government demands swift justice for the perpetrators and urged President Bola Tinubu and Governor Monday Okpebholo to denounce the act unequivocally.

“All individuals found to be complicit in the atrocity must be brought to justice, including any law enforcement personnel who may have neglected their duty”
Comrade Waiya explained that, this brutal act of mob violence undermines the sanctity of human life and erodes public trust in the state’s ability to uphold law and order.
“The government calls for an immediate, thorough, and transparent investigation into the incident”
He said the Kano State government is committed to supporting all efforts aimed at strengthening the security framework and ensuring that victims and their families have access to justice and redress.
“The government stands united with the people of Nigeria in condemning this brutal act and demands immediate and resolute measures to prevent any recurrence of such violence. The protection of human life and the preservation of community values remain the highest priorities”
