Crack detectives and smart operatives of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, Lagos State Police Command, have arrested Adedayo Ben Adegbola, a commercial taxi driver identified in viral posts, for allegedly committing multiple cases of rape, defilement, assault, and armed robbery against female passengers across the state.
In a statement signed my SP Abimbola Adebisi, Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Police Command, following directives from Commissioner of Police CP Olohunnare Jimoh, detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, launched a thorough investigation that led to Adegbola’s arrest on October 31, 2025, at about 9:40 a.m.
His red Toyota Corolla (registration number JJJ 226 HT), reportedly used in the crimes, was recovered as evidence.
The suspect is in custody, and investigations are ongoing to track down possible accomplices. Victims are urged to come forward to assist the police, with assurances of identity protection.
The Commissioner reaffirmed the command’s commitment to justice, public safety, and transparency. He further noted that updates on the investigation will be provided in due course.
