Significant progress was also recorded at the Dan Dinshe and Unguwar Dabai sites, where the Commissioner commended the level of achievement.
He appealed to local residents to continue cooperating with authorities, especially regarding relocating electrical installations along the affected roads.
The Gwale Road Network Project, a cornerstone of the Urban Upgrade Plan, involves the construction and rehabilitation of multiple interlinking roads connecting residential, commercial, and institutional areas within the Gwale Local Government Area. It aims to enhance mobility and accessibility in key sectors of the metropolis.
During the tour, the inspection team addressed concerns raised by residents over blocked waterways along parts of the Ungogo five-kilometre road project. The Civil Infrastructure Department of the Ministry assured the community that work is ongoing and that the contractor will be directed to resolve the drainage issue. Engr. Ibrahim Idris, Head of the Department, urged residents to refrain from dumping refuse in drainage channels to prevent future blockages.
Speaking to the press at the end of the inspection, Comrade Sumaila emphasised the significance of the projects and the government’s commitment to quality infrastructure.
“Today, we inspected eight projects currently ongoing across the state, with a cumulative value of not less than ₦50 billion. Our technical team commended the contractors’ efforts. We also made some observations which will be addressed in collaboration with the Ministry of Works to ensure timely and efficient completion,” he said.
The Ministry reaffirmed its dedication to transparency, accountability, and sustainable development, pledging continuous monitoring and evaluation to ensure value for money in all public infrastructure investments.
