The Jigawa State Police Command has arrested no fewer than 153 suspects following coordinated raids on criminal hideouts, black spots, and drug joints across the state.
Spokesman of the Command, SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, disclosed this in a statement issued to newsmen on Monday, noting that the operation was part of the police’s sustained efforts to rid the state of crime and criminality.

“Operatives of the Jigawa State Police Command have successfully carried out coordinated raids on criminals’ hideouts, black spots, and drug joints across the forty-two (42) Divisions in the state,” SP Shiisu said.
He explained that during the operation, the suspects were arrested for various offences, including drug peddling, possession of illicit substances, and other related crimes.
Items recovered from the suspects include 3,139 Exol tablets, 2,977 D5 tablets, 1,774 Tramadol capsules, three blocks and 943 wraps of dried cannabis, 98 Diazepam tablets, 176 bottles of rubber solution, 46 “suck and die” substances, 500 bottles of syrup, five Pregabalin capsules, 37 Pentazocine injections, 22 Vegakris capsules, 30 packs of snuff, cash amounting to ₦228,570, and one boxer motorcycle.

SP Shiisu added that all the suspects have been charged to court following discreet investigations.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Dahiru Muhammad, commended the operatives for their gallant efforts and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to combating crime in all its forms.
He urged members of the public to continue providing the police with credible and timely information to aid the ongoing fight against drug abuse and other criminal activities in the state.
The Command further assured residents of its determination to ensure a safe and secure environment, warning criminal elements to desist from unlawful acts or face the full wrath of the law.
