The Kebbi State Police Command has rescued six kidnapped victims unhurt following a successful operation in Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area of the state.
This was contained in a statement issued in Birnin Kebbi by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, CSP Nafiu Abubakar on Sunday.
According to the statement, on November 2, 2025, a group of about twelve armed bandits invaded Ukuhu, Tungar Wazga, and Unguwar Chiroma villages in Danko-Wasagu LGA, abducting ten residents during the attack.

Upon receiving the distress call, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Danko, swiftly mobilized a combined team of police operatives and local vigilantes, who pursued the criminals and intercepted them at Marina village, a border community near Zamfara State.
A fierce gun battle ensued, forcing the bandits to abandon six of their captives and retreat into the Zamfara forest, some with possible gunshot injuries.
The rescued victims identified as Abubakar Abubakar, Nasiru Magawata, Abdul Magawata, Buhari Ukuhu, Kamalu Magawata, and Naziru Magawata were later reunited with their families after undergoing medical checks.

While commending the team for their bravery, the Commissioner of Police, CP Bello Sani, praised the DPO Danko and his men for their swift response, professionalism, and dedication to duty.
The Command reassured residents of its continued commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state, urging communities to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious movements to security agencies.
