The Nigerian Senate has put the brakes on its tax reform bills due to mounting pressure, and to address the contentious areas, it’s formed an ad-hoc committee headed by Minority Leader Senator Abba Moro.

This committee will engage with the federal government to iron out the grey areas before moving forward with the legislative process.

The committee’s first task is to hold a forum with stakeholders, including the Attorney General of the Federation, to resolve areas of disagreement and ensure all parties’ interests are addressed .

This move indicates the Senate’s commitment to thorough deliberation and collaboration before proceeding with the tax reform bills.
