The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has distributed relief materials to at least 198 households affected by the 2024 flood disaster in Kano Municipal Federal Constituency.

According to Dr. Nura Abdullahi, NEMA Coordinator, Kano Territorial Office, the relief materials include food items such as rice, maize, spaghetti, vegetable oil, seasoning cubes, and beverages.

In addition to food items, NEMA also distributed non-food items like cement, roofing sheets, ceiling boards, zinc nails, and 3-inch nails to support the affected households in rebuilding and recovering from the flood disaster.

The relief materials were distributed to households in several communities within the Kano municipal federal constituency, including Kankarofi, Yakasai, Dan’agundi, Shahuchi, Tudun Nupawa, and eight other affected communities.

Hon. Sagiru Koki, a member representing the Kano municipal federal constituency, commended NEMA for the gesture, while the Speaker of Kano Municipal Legislative Council, Yahaya Abdullahi-Maiduniya, urged the beneficiaries to use the items judiciously.

Speaking on behalf of other beneficiaries, Muhammad Umar, commended NEMA for the gesture and promised to make judicious use of the items.
