Angry youths from Zangon Maje Village in Jigawa State’s Taura Local Government area launched a devastating attack on Gidan Na Ruwa Fulani Settlement, burning down 24 houses and 16 silos.
A resident of Gidan Na Ruwa Fulani pointed out that the incident occurred on Monday when a group of armed individuals attacked the village, prompting residents to flee for their lives.
He explained that, they sighted a large number of people from Zangon Maje Village flashing torch lights and chanting war slogans toward their village.

Spokesman of the Jigawa police command, SP. Lawan Shiisu Adam confirmed the incident to newsmen.
According to him “ Police has received report that On 09/03/2025 at about 2145hrs, residents of Gidan Na Ruwa Fulani Settlement, Taura LGA, sighted a large number of people from Zangon Maje Village flashing torch lights and chanting war slogans toward their village, prompting all villagers to flee for their lives”
He said upon receipt of the report, the Divisional Police Officer of Taura and his patrol team swiftly raced to the scene.

“When they arrived, the team discovered that youths from Zango Maje had attacked and set fire to twenty-four (24) hatched houses and sixteen (16) local granaries”
He highlighted that, preliminary investigations revealed that the violence was sparked by a dispute over a stolen motorcycle and the beating of two Zangon Maje villagers, Musa Hussaini and Shanu Sule.
Shiisu maintained that, the police have arrested five suspects and are working to restore normalcy in the area, with intensified patrols to prevent further violence.
