    WOFAN ICON-2 Project: Empowering Leaders for Organizational Culture Change

    In its quest to empower and transform rural communities, the women farmers advancement network WOFAN organized a capacity building titled Cross Multi-Functional Project Management and Inclusivity for Organisational Culture Change, held in Qatar.

    Participants were drawn across ten implementing states of the WOFAN ICON-2 project in Nigeria and the Southwestern state of Osun, as well as the academia, media and relevant stakeholders.

    Speaking to newsmen, the founder of the Women Farmers Advancement Network WOFAN, who doubles as the country director of the WOFAN ICON-2 project, Hajiya Dr. Salamatu Garba, explained that the training is like an exchange program between the network and other countries implementing similar programs.

    The country director stressed that the training emphasized the importance of leadership, in the sense that you incorporate it into followership to ensure that, Everybody gets included in what you are doing.

    We also learn how followers Maintain and sustain whatever is given to them . They should focus on self development, believe in themselves, self growth and prepare for the future”

    Dr. salamatu urged leaders to have more listening ears to ensure that people’s development is a priority.

    “If you come to WOFAN school, you will find out that really ght from childhood we bring out those qualities of leadership, innovation and creativity”

    Some of the participants , Nafisat Ajeigbe, Petunia Dorothy, Amije I. Amirika, Zayyad Ja’afar, Sadik Zakariyya, Omago Iyawo, Vembeh Member Betty, Nana B. Sarki and Eunice Istifanus Ishaku, commended WOFAN ICON-2 for giving them opportunity.IMG 20241124 WA0218

    Paradigm News reports that, in October 2024 the WOFAN ICON-2 team was invited to London for a 5 days training on Emotional Intelligence for selected participants across 6 countries, in it’s drive to improve leadership skills and developing high performing teams at various strata of society.
