As part of her continuous efforts towards ensuring total inclusion for orphans and other children, especially those under her mandate, the Commissioner, Ministry of Women, Children and the Disabled, Hajiya Aisha Lawan Saji Rano, has organized a Maulud celebration for inmates of Nassarawa Children’s Home.
In a statement signed by the director public enlightenment ministry of women affairs Aishatu Haruna made available to newsmen.
She explained that, the Maulud, which will take place on Saturday, September 28th, at the premises of the home, is expected to be graced by the Commissioner Directors and staff of the ministry as well as inmates from other social homes.
According to the Commissioner, the decision to organize the event for the orphans and other children was informed by the need to provide them with a sense of belonging like any other child.
Hajiya Saji explained to the inmates of thr social homes that they have a reliable and caring father in the person of governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and an equally loving mother in her person, also promises to always be there for these children, carrying them along in every way possible.
She further revealed that, the Maulud celebration which is the first of it’s kind for the children, will avail them the chance to partake in the celebration of the birth of Holy Prophet (SAW)
When marked, the celebration will stand out as Hajiya Saji is the first Commissioner of the ministry to organize such a gathering.
“The Maulud celebration will be marked by recitation of the Holy Quran and Hadith”
“Invited children from other homes, especially inmates of IDP Camp, Mariri who have remarkably been doing well in their Islamic education pursuit will be in active attendance”
She noted that, the historic move also speaks volume of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s love and passion for orphans, children and the vulnerable in the state.
