Dr. Jamila Dahiru has bid an emotional farewell to her role as the Commissioner for Education in Bauchi State after two years of dedicated service.
Her departure follows a cabinet reshuffle by Governor Bala Mohammed aimed at strengthening governance in the state.

In her farewell statement, Dr. Dahiru expressed heartfelt gratitude to both the Governor and the people of Bauchi State for the support she received throughout her tenure.
“Tonight, I bid farewell to my position as Commissioner for Education in Bauchi State, where I had the rare privilege of serving my state for two years and making a positive impact on the lives of countless students, teachers, and communities,” she said.

Reflecting on her time in office, Dr. Dahiru acknowledged the essential role of her team and the broader community in driving progress.
“This role came at a time I never envisaged. And Alhamdulillah, I am most grateful to His Excellency, the Governor of Bauchi State, for granting me this privilege and for his unwavering support throughout my tenure. I also thank my amazing team and my community for standing behind me and providing a nurturing environment that allowed us to deliver.”
She emphasized that teamwork, hard work, resilience, and determination were key to the progress achieved.

“It was a testament to strong teamwork, hard work, resilience, and determination in making positive impacts,” she remarked.
“I’m proud of the progress we’ve made, and I’m grateful for the support and collaboration I received.”
Dr. Dahiru expressed optimism for the continued development of the education sector in Bauchi State.
“As I bid farewell to this chapter, I’m excited to see the continued growth and progress of Bauchi State’s education sector. Thank you again to everyone who has supported me on this journey. I wish the people of Bauchi State all the best for the future, and I pray that God will bless and prosper our beloved state.”
In closing, Dr. Dahiru quoted a Quranic verse shared by her predecessor, Dr. Aliyu Tilde, ending her statement with a prayer: “And say: My Lord! Cause me to come in with a firm incoming and to go out with a firm outgoing. And give me from Thy presence a sustaining Power. (Al-Isra’, Ayah 80).”
